Occupational Health and Safety for companies

Occupational medical evaluations designed around the actual tasks and risks of each position. One point of coordination for the medical evaluation, studies with partner providers and the fitness-for-work opinion, with bilingual service and your employees' clinical information kept confidential.

What we do

Three parts, each with a clear owner

We keep separate what the physician decides, what NexoCare coordinates and what external providers perform, so your company knows who is responsible for each part of the service.

Medical evaluation

Medical judgment and responsibility

  • ·Validation of the protocol for each position and exposure.
  • ·Occupational medical evaluation: clinical and occupational history, medications, vital signs, physical exam and basic visual acuity.
  • ·Integration of history, examination and results.
  • ·Issuing the fitness-for-work opinion for the position.
Coordination

Organized by NexoCare

  • ·A single point of contact for your company.
  • ·Scheduling of sessions, physicians and providers according to the agreed scope.
  • ·Consolidation of results and delivery of the agreed documentation.
Partner providers

Studies performed by third parties

  • ·Clinical laboratory tests, drug screening, audiometry, spirometry, electrocardiograms and imaging.
  • ·Performed by external providers, with their own procedures and reports.
  • ·Coordinated by NexoCare and integrated into the medical evaluation.

Services

Services based on the risks of each position

No test is required for every employee simply because they work for the company. Each study is added only when the position, the exposure or a medical finding justifies it.

NexoCare services

Core of every proposal

Scope, frequency and volume are defined in each proposal.

Job health profile design or validation

Links each position to its tasks and risks to decide what should be evaluated. It can start from a job profile your company already has.

Occupational medical evaluation

Clinical and occupational history, medications, vital signs, a focused physical exam and basic visual acuity with a Snellen chart, related to the essential tasks.

Fitness-for-work opinion

A medical conclusion for the specific position, issued once the applicable protocol is complete. Your company receives the fitness status and relevant restrictions.

Functional and biological-risk assessments

Mobility, strength or balance for work at height, manual handling or confined spaces; review of immunizations for tasks with biological risk.

When applicable to the tasks of the position.

Follow-up and referral

Guidance on findings, referrals and preventive recommendations.

Depending on the contracted service.

Preventive health education

Talks and health promotion activities tailored to the organization's risks.

Depending on the contracted service.

Coordinated with partner providers

Subject to relevance, availability and quote

Included only when the position's protocol requires them. Availability, format and cost are confirmed with the provider before we present the proposal.

Clinical laboratory tests

Tests such as a complete blood count, glucose, kidney function or liver panel, selected from a defined list.

When the agreed protocol or medical judgment justifies them.

Audiometry

Hearing surveillance with a report.

When there is noise exposure, driving, equipment operation or critical communication.

Spirometry

Respiratory assessment with quality control and interpretation.

When there is dust, fumes, gases, vapors, respirator use or symptoms.

Electrocardiogram

12-lead ECG with a physician's reading.

On indication based on cardiovascular risk, findings or critical tasks.

Imaging

X-rays with a radiology report.

Only on clinical indication or within a defined surveillance program. Not part of routine pre-employment.

Substance screening with a documented process.

Only for safety-sensitive positions, with a written company policy, consent and confidentiality.
